The Norns spinning the thread of Destiny (by Arthur Rackham)
The Fates~ The Norns in Norse mythology are Goddesses who rule the destiny of Gods and men. The Norns spin the threads of fate at the foot of Yggdrasil, the tree of the world. Whereas the origin of the name norn is uncertain, it may derive from a word meaning “to twine” and which would refer to their twining the thread of fate. The Pagan Poppet

532) I feel like no one gets anxiety. It’s not just being afraid of the dark. It’s not just worrying about your exams. It’s mood swings, crying when your friends don’t text you back instantly because you think they hate you, temporary blindness and numbness in limbs. Anxiety is real and it is serious.

Also the rapid heartbeat, light headedness, shortness of breath, shaking limbs, inability to focus, and the biggest, heaviest knot in the pit of your stomach that won’t go away

OH

AND

the people who think that anxiety is like “oh I felt nervous that one time before I went on a rollercoaster/took a test/etc”.

Feeling anxious or nervous about something =/= anxiety

Lets not forget the little rituals we carry on in secret to make it possible for us to go into situations that make us anxious. The fear that someone will notice that we aren’t normal and will point it out to others. The clenching in the stomach. The many times I have said, “Oh, I have heartburn, I really can’t eat tonight.” because if I put food near my mouth I would have vomited instantly just from the anxiety.
